Three distinguished research organizations (listed below) applied for Pan-Pacific MIRAI membership. Their applications are under process as of May 9, 2008.

Prof. Ichiro Inasaki, MIRAI president, at Chubu University, Japan received a research grant as a feasibility study from "Idea Factory" program of Japan IMS center.
The project title is "FS of the Symbiotic Machining Systems" and his research consortium consists of Fanuc, JTEKT, Fujitsu, and Kawasaki heavy industry with some associate members.

The 1st International Symposium on Hybrid Materials and PRocessing, HyMaP 2008 will be held Oct. 27-29, 2008 in Busan, Korea. The HyMaP 2008 will cover a wide spectrum of aspects related to hybrid materials and characterization, hybrid fabrication processes, and future directions. The HyMaP 2008 Symposium will play a role of active forum for the most updated and advanced researches in hybrid materials and processing. We are very delighted to announce the HyMaP 2008.
